Welcome to StrandNära, the organic B&B on Öland. StrandNära is more than a bed & breakfast. It is an atmosphere and a home. A home that welcomes its’ guests in an unpretentious and relaxed way. We always put the guest at the centre and focus on quiet luxury, good organic food and comfortable, beautiful surroundings.
The rooms are simply decorated and furnished with everything you need. The focus is on the details and the beautiful surroundings close to the sea. All rooms are full of natural light.
StrandNära was originally intended to be a summer residence. It was built as a summer home by mrs Julia, who opened the beatiful house for guests the summer of 1926.
The building was thoroughly renovated in 2008-2022 by it´s owners, Erica & Mikael Anerhaf, who carefully furnished and preserved the beautiful house. Erica focused on creating an atmosphere that is true to the natural surroundings and history of the place, while maintaining the feeling of visiting a warm, private home. The bed & breakfast is open all year long and we send you a warm welcome to the island and StrandNära.
B&B in the Villa
Scandinavian Deluxe & Twin-Room
Looking for something special, our cozy B&B in Villa StrandNära is an excellent option. These rooms includes organic certified bed linen, organic Scandinavian breakfast, bathroom with shower, seating area and balcony. The rooms are on the second floor (stairs) in the main building. On the second floor in our Villa we offer four double rooms with private bathrooms and one “Twin-Room” for up to four persons. The Twin-Room consists of two bedrooms, a common hallway with a bathroom with toilet and shower, in one bedroom there is another bathroom with toilet and sink. This room is perfect for two couples, friends or families, who want to stay together but at the same time have some privacy.

The rooms are decorated in natural, light colors and materials. All our rooms in the Villa are on the second floor of the main building, up a wooden staircase (no elevator). Breakfast is served on the first floor in the Villa, between 8-10 for all our resident guests. When you book a room in the Villa, you can enjoy the peace and the idyllic surroundings in our living room, be inspired by magazines & listen to calm, relaxing music. In winter, you can enjoy the crackling stove and the sun’s rays peeking in through the south-facing windows.
B&B in the Garden
The rooms in the Garen are located in the the charming garden, all with private entrances. All rooms features bathroom with shower, table, chairs and outdoor seating area. These rooms includes organic certified bed linen and organic Scandinavian breakfast. We offer 10 rooms in the Garden, with two different sizes to choose between.
ROOM IN THE GARDEN – SMALL 15 M2
These are our smallest rooms, perfect for those who only want to use the room to sleep in to spend the days outdoors, or for occasional nights. The room has a small hallway with clothes hangers and a small table with two chairs, bathroom with shower, double bed with separate beds, bedside table and fully glazed patio door to a small south-facing patio with a small table and chairs. There are two rooms of this room type, these rooms are also excellent for families who wish to live with two rooms next to each other. There is a maximum of two people per room, no extra beds or baby cribs can fit in these rooms.
ROOM IN THE GARDEN – COUNTRY CLASSIC 22-25 M2
These rooms are divided into two sections. A section with a double bed with separate beds, as well as a section with seating furniture. The rooms have bathrooms with showers, double patios, one facing the inner garden and one facing south or east, depending on which side of the hotel the room is located. There are eight rooms of this room type. There is a maximum of two persons per room, please note that we do not offer any extra beds. In one of these rooms we welcome small to medium-sized dogs, upon request and an extra fee is added.

Only 200 meters from the sea, we offer a tranquil & scenic accommodation near the idyllic village Stora Frö. Close to natural charming spots & the world heritage Alvaret, we offer an sustainable concept, how to live, eat and experience the island.
Within walking distance you will find southern Öland’s longest beach with shingle, Herb Garden, Pottery, Haga Park’s surf center and the nature reserve Beijershamn. The bike and hiking trail passes outside our garden further along the sea & the world heritage area.
